I am a painter and illustrator who uses surrealist imagery to portray themes of fantasy and the human condition. My art shows the viewer the separation of the human body from the world, time, and one's emotions. This is accomplished by taking figures from the imagination and transforming them into physical forms, and using these forms to deal with the distortion of time and its effects on the psyche. My work also experiments with the philosophy of sentience, specifically with how the mind reacts to not having a strong foundation in the world that surrounds us. The viewer is invited to see where my mind goes when it separates from my body. I highlight the philosophical themes of existence in a way that also speaks on the fantastical and the unrealistic, as well as pushing my understanding of what my experience disconnecting from the world has been.
